Another birthday and I really would rather start counting backwards!!! On my walk this morning I almost ran head-on into 3 bull elk grazing between 2 trailers. Their antlers are still in velvet and absolutely enormous. Luckily, they were too busy munching to bother with me. Yesterday I saw 6 together along the road near the campground...I guess they travel in herds until the rut season. I'm sorry I won't be here to hear them bugling. When I got to the library this morning Betty had a Happy Birthday sign on my monitor and a beautiful pot with 2 cacti planted in it with a little sign that says Grand Canyon. I will put it on my desk in my library and think of her and my Grand Canyon experiences every day! She also made cookies and announced at our morning meeting that it was my birthday so of course all the rangers had to sing to me...got a little misty over that one! Anyway, it was fun and the cookies were delicious. I will be doing storytime today so a little break from the indoors. Hopefully it won't thunderstorm until I get back from the rim. My neighbors got house (trailer) guests yesterday: Tania's aunt and uncle came in for a few days. Her mom and dad are coming in today so Brad and Tania are going to stay with me for the next few nights...it will be like a slumber party. I have plenty of room and it will be fun. Hope to add some pictures soon. I haaven't been out with my camera the last few days.
